The purpose of this event is to help those working in early intervention and first point of contact roles support blind and partially sighted people of working age.
By attending this event attendees will learn about a broad range of services and support available to blind and partially sighted people to help them retain employment. The day will cover:
*the latest research findings into what happens to the employment status of people who lose their sight *real life stories from blind and partially sighted people government support schemes, such as
- Access to Work *the role of access technology *emotional support *what
- the law says about employee rights *resources and information, such as
- the Action Employment Helpline
The day will also provide an opportunity to take part in discussions with peers about the support and skills required to help working age people with sight loss retain their job.
