Bolton Castle is a spectacular medieval fortress situated in the heart of Wensleydale, with stunning views over the Yorkshire Dales. The castle is extremely well preserved with approximately one third of the rooms still intact and fully accessible, giving a great insight into its turbulent past!
This family day is going to take your whole family back in time through a medieval adventure with the chance to dress as a Tudor and tour the Castle in all its glory. The journey will continue with the opportunity to engage in medieval activities from handling battle artefacts, drawing bow and arrows, dancing in the Great Chamber and creating Plague bags to scare off those deadly diseases. There will be a chance to hold a bird of prey and visit the wild boar and Wensleydale sheep.
Bring your own picnic to eat within the authentic castle dining rooms, just like the archers, monks or even Mary Queen of Scots herself.
