Jude Kay took up post as Head of Programme for Diabetic Eye Screening Wales (DESW) on 8 January.
Jude has almost 20 years of NHS management experience, spanning operational service management, service commissioning and modernisation, corporate roles and policy development.
She has worked in NHS Wales for the last 12 years, largely in the Gwent area but always working collaboratively with colleagues on a national or regional basis.
Most recently, Jude was National Programme Manager of 111 Wales, supporting the service design and establishment within the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board and Carmarthenshire, and leading the ongoing procurement of a new national IT solution for the service.
“I am excited to join the Public Health Wales screening division. DESW is a unique service delivered by a fantastically committed and skilled team.
“The recent Swansea University research shows the huge impact that high-quality screening services can have on supporting and improving the lives of the population that we serve, and it’s a real honour for me to lead the programme as we deal with our future challenges.”
