If you have joined thousands of others in making a News Year’s Resolution to get fit or simply want a challenge, then look no further – Fight for Sight is offering an 80% reduction in registration fee for an exciting range of challenge events during 2019.
For just £5 you can register for fantastic events including Vitality Big Half on 10 March, London Landmarks Half Marathon on 24 March, Simplyhealth Great North Run on 8 September or Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon on 13 October 2019.
Places are still available, so sign up quickly to secure your place and start training! All fundraising proceeds support Fight for Sight and our research to stop sight loss from conditions including glaucoma and childhood inherited conditions. There are currently over two million people living with sight loss in the UK.
You can start training now by using Fight for Sight’s free 10k virtual running app, available for the second time for those who missed out last year. The app takes runners on an audio ‘journey to the centre of the eye’ and can be done from any location, including a treadmill.
Ed Jackson, events manager at Fight for Sight, said: “If you’re looking for a New Year challenge, whether that’s running a half marathon or trekking to Everest base camp, then why not apply now for one of our challenge events. We know that sight loss doesn’t have to be inevitable – it’s through our fantastic supporters raising money for research that we will find the next breakthrough. We are already on the cusp of making breakthroughs and your support can make all the difference.”
