Lothian Buses launch mobile app to help visually impaired people travel around Edinburgh

22 April 2015

Lothian Buses have launched a free mobile app to help people who are blind and partially sighted travel around Edinburgh.

Lothian Buses worked closely with RNIB and the Royal Blind School to create the update to the existing Transport for Edinburgh mobile app.

The app features VoiceOver technology, which allows anyone who has the app installed can point their phone at a tram or bus stop and the phone will announce the name of the stop and which services go from there.
