There are many clinical trials and research studies looking at new treatments and ultimately trying to find a cure for macular disease. The Macular Society are often approached to help find people to participate in clinical trials and research studies. Involvement can range from providing feedback on new developments, to undergoing treatment as part of a trial.
The Macular Society research participant database is for anyone with a macular condition, as well as family members and healthy volunteers. You can sign up whether or not you are a member of the Macular Society by going to the link below. They collect basic information about you and your condition to help them check your eligibility for trials and then write to you about research studies you may be eligible to participate in. They keep the information confidential and secure and no information is shared with any other organisations.
For further information and to sign up please go to: Research Trials
If you are a researcher and would like to find out more about the database, please contact Geraldine Hoad on 01264 322 419.
