Moorfields Eye Charity has launched its new website today. The website will allow patients, supporters and people interested in eye care and research to find out more about the charity’s impact at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and on the future of eye care. The website is the first product after the merger of Moorfields Eye Charity and the Special Trustees, formerly two separate charities supporting the hospital.
The website will be a source of information on pioneering research, state of the art equipment and the education of the ophthalmologists of tomorrow. Visitors to the site will also be able to find out how they can help the charity continue to make a difference to patients at Moorfields Eye Hospital and people with eye disease around the world. Online users can sign-up for a fundraising event, remember the charity in their will or pledge a regular donation each month, or support the charity in a variety of other ways easily accessible online.
To celebrate the launch, the charity has partnered with Searcy’s to offer a chance to win a three course meal for two and a bottle of wine at the Tonic and Remedy Restaurant overlooking London’s skyline at the M by Montcalm Hotel, opposite the hospital at City Road. To enter, simply visit http://www.moorfieldseyecharity.org.uk/win.
Rob Aldous, director of fundraising and development, says: “The new website is a great resource for our supporters, Moorfields’ patients and staff and anyone interested in the charity’s work. We are delighted that we can celebrate the merger of the two charities for the benefit of our online audience. Our hope is that the new website will prove a valuable resource for all our stakeholders, while encouraging many more who care about Moorfields Eye Hospital to get involved with Moorfields Eye Charity.”
