Presented by Professor Darren Shickle MB Bch, MPH, MA, MD, FFPHM Professor of Public Health and Head of Academic Unit of Public Health, Institute of Health Sciences, University of Leeds.
The webinar explores the interface between the optical sector and the public health agenda: ◦epidemiology of eye diseases
◦policy developments in eye health, for example the new public health outcome framework indicator for England on preventable sight loss
◦the optical sector strategy for ophthalmic public health
◦uptake of eye examinations, and reasons why people do or do not have regular eye examinations
◦Models of delivery of optical services and the importance of dispensing opticians and optometrists in engaging in the primary eye care and public health agenda
At the end of the live webinar presentation, participants were invited to pose their questions to the expert panel in a live Q&A session
