The Vision UK Leadership panel discussion meeting was held on the 14th of May to ascertain the views and the potential contributors to the four strategic panels of Vision UK and to make sure the membership and partner organisations felt both involved and consulted in the continuing work of Vision UK. It brought together leaders from across our stakeholder community and experts on specific topics. Discussion was also had on the leadership panel which will consider the work planned in the four strategic panels.
The meeting was attended by 32 delegates from many organisations including the Industry Vision Group (IVG) and the major sight loss charities and eye health organisations. The discussions were split into four tables to cover the strategic panels being presently constructed:
i) Epidemiology, evidence and statistics (Facilitator Matt Broom)
ii) Prevention, cures and treatments (Facilitator: Julia Marwood)
iii) Services, support and care (Facilitator: Phil Ambler)
iv) Public understanding of eye health and sight loss (Facilitator: Tayyaba Kamal)
The day was split into three sections:
i) The morning was initial individual table discussions on the strategic panels.
ii) Lunchtime set aside for networking.
iii) Afternoon group discussions on the strategic panels and the leadership panel (make up and structure).
