Royal College of Ophthalmologists looking for new members for its Lay Advisory Group

The RCOphth was set up by Royal Charter to advance the science and practice of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists Logoophthalmology. It is the professional body for eye doctors, with a membership of 4,000 and is responsible for the training and examination of medical doctors who want to become specialist eye doctors.

The RCOphth Lay Advisory Group (LAG) contributes to the safety and efficiency of eye care in the UK and encourage the RCOphth to remain focussed on the needs of the patient.

The LAG is recruiting for two new members;

• A Lay advisor who will also sit on the Curriculum Subcommittee. A background in education is desirable.

• A Lay advisor who will also sit on the Examinations Committee. A background in examinations or healthcare is desirable.

The Curriculum Subcommittee meets 3 times a year
The Examination Committee meets 3 times a year
The Lay Advisory Group meets 3 times a year
