We are delighted to announce the Seeing Beyond the Eyes Zone comes to Optrafair, 30 March – 1 April 2019. The main focus is on sight loss, which empowers optical professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively support low vision patients. The Zone is funded by Thomas Pocklington Trust, a national charity supporting people with sight loss, and will feature CET worth 6 interactive-points from the excellent Seeing Beyond the Eyes team – Daniel Williams, Man on a mission with low vision and Founder of Visualise Training and Consultancy, Peter Black, Director of Orbita Black and former President of ABDO, and Jayshree Vasani Sub-Regional Lead for ABDO. The team is on a mission to get low vision higher up the agenda by empowering optical professionals to know where to refer patients with low vision for life-enhancing support as soon as they are diagnosed.
Daniel Williams said “We are delighted that Optrafair has partnered with us to a have a low vision zone and we are hopeful that additional low vision charities and suppliers will join us in our mission. This is the first time in a while an optical show has had such a zone and it’s now time that low vision was treated more seriously, especially as we know there will be 4 million people with sight loss by 2050.”
This workshop is not to be missed and has been rated as Excellent by 96% of delegates on the GOC website – book your free place at the Seeing Beyond the Eyes Zone on Optrafair’s website now before places go!
