ADASS physical & sensory impairment & HIV/AIDS network

Vision UK act as secretariat for the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) physical and sensory impairment and HIV/AIDS network.

Peter Fahy, Director of Adult Services, Coventry City Council

The network is designed to provide a point of contact for frontline staff and their managers involved in the delivery of services to people with physical and sensory impairment and HIV/AIDS. This will include anyone providing services locally, by voluntary organisations and other providers.

Vision UK is often asked to represent agencies and service providers catering for blind or partially sighted users and this group will provide important information and advice relating to key issues affecting blind and partially sighted people.

The Group provides opportunities to share good practice examples and discuss common issues affecting workers providing services in local authority areas via voluntary societies or local authorities.

The Group’s Resources section provides content on information and issues affecting the sector, potential changes to legislation, consultation documents and links to other useful bodies.

If you would like to bring a topic to this network and/or speak at one of the network meetings please contact Matt Broom, CEO, Vision UK:

The network meets biannually in rooms kindly provided by the Thomas Pocklington Trust at: The Pocklington Hub, BMA House, Entrance D, 4th Floor, Tavistock House South, Tavistock Square, WC1H 9LG
