In response to growing membership across its eye and hearing care businesses FODO has announced a new company structure and the appointment of Harjit Sandhu as its first-ever Managing Director. Harjit, who was previously Director of Policy and Strategy at the National Community Hearing Association (NCHA), will now run the four FODO businesses: FODO, FODO Ireland, the NCHA and ophthalmology

The Optician: FODO doubles indemnity claim cover

FODO members have been told their cover per claim for professional liability insurance has been doubled from £5m to £10m – to keep in line with requirements of NHS commissioners. FODO’s response to Autumn Budget 2018

In his Budget statement on Monday 29 October the Chancellor, Philip Hammond declared the “the era of austerity is finally coming to an end” reflecting what the Prime Minister had told the Conservative Party Conference on 3 October. It was also the pre-Brexit budget but may need to be revised next March if an acceptable exit package cannot be agreed.
