The VISION 2020 UK Dementia and Sight loss Committee (DaSLIC) is a collaborative committee made up of representatives of RNIB, the Alzheimer’s Society, The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, The College of Optometrists, Thomas Pocklington Trust, the Macular Society, ABDO, UCL and more. The committee exists due to the growing realisation that, although large numbers of people with dementia also have problems with vision and visual perception, awareness of the particular difficulties faced by those affected by both conditions is very low.
To aid carers, people with dementia and sight loss and those working with people with dementia and sight loss DaSLIC have released updated factsheets on 3 topics:
