Vision UK announce that our CEO Keith Valentine will be leaving to take up an exciting new role as the RNIB’S New Director of Development.
Formerly deputy chief executive at Thomas Pocklington Trust, Keith became Vision UK’s chief executive in June of last year. Since then, Keith has overseen the establishment of the new organisation. He has started the process of leading the delivery of a new collaborative ambition for change across the eye health and visual impairment sectors.
Vision UK is pleased to announce that our current director, Matt Broom will take over from Keith: “We wish Keith luck in his new job and thank him for his work setting up Vision UK”, said Matt. “Keith has left us in a strong position and we will build on his legacy and strategy”.
Matt added: “This is an exciting time for Vision UK, with our work to set up the 4 new Strategic Panels well underway. I am looking forward to taking up the CEO post and to continuing to work with all our partners in the eye health and sight loss world and beyond.”
Keith Valentine, outgoing chief executive of Vision UK said:
“It’s been a real honour and a superb professional challenge to get Vision UK up and running. My aim has been to get the work started on delivering positive change for blind and partially sighted people and those at risk of losing their eyesight.
Since I was appointed as chief executive of Vision UK, I have travelled extensively around the country. I have received a great deal of support, from organisations in the visual impairment sector, for the work we have been doing on developing better collaboration, to deliver an agreed set of UK-wide ambitions and priority areas.
I am pleased that Matt Broom will be taking over from me as Vision UK’s interim chief executive on June 1. Matt has been the director of Vision UK since it was set up last October and he will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge of the visual impairment sector to the role.
In my new job as director of development at RNIB, I will remain a firm supporter of Vision UK and wish Matt and the team well for the future. “
